Two photos (click for big) and below two videos from a binaural recording session last night here in Berlin, at the truly amazing new university library, conveniently named “Universitätsbibliothek der Humboldt-Universität, Standort Jacob-und-Wilhelm-Grimm-Zentrum”.
The recordings are for The Quiet Volume, a new autoteatro work i’m making with Tim Etchells – more on that soon, though there’s info here, and full info here about the festival it’s part of, Ciudades Paralelas (Parallel Cities), curated by Stefan Kaegi and Lola Arias.
Thanks so much to everyone who came last night – all twenty or so of you. The whispers, clicking, intakes of breath, page-turning and door slamming went on until about 1.30am. Then with Tito Toblerone at the controls, we continued until nearly 3 with the masterful scratchings, murmers, scrapes and distant bass clarinet howls of the Not Applicable Trio – Isambard Kroustaliov, Maurizio Ravalico and Lothar Ohlmeier. You can play these two videos together…
